Top 5 movies of 2012 that you are looking forward to, whether they are in theaters already or not. ([community profile] fannish5)

List the 5 series (tv, book, or movies) that best kept their quality, from beginning to end.

1. Discworld, Terry Pratchet.
That might be considered cheating given that the series is not over, but although of course I have my favourite novels and those that didn't really appeal much to me, managing to write so many unique, funny books is absolutely amazing. Well done Sir Terry Pratchett !

2. Lord of the Rings (books), J.R.R. Tolkien
Not that I didn't like the movies, which were a very good adaptation (in "my" meaning of the word, which I might explain someday XD), but when I ended the book I felt both happy and sad because it was, as my mum used to say it very well, as if you were saying good bye to an old friend.

3. The Prisonner (1967 show), Patrick McGoohan
Yet again, you could say it's cheating, because it only lasted one season. But what a season !

4. Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes
Because Gene Hunt remained Gene Hunt, and because the end was absolutely amazing.

5. Sofia Coppola's Virgin Suicides, Lost and Translation & Marie-Antoinette
Because yes, I consider them as a trilogy. A trilogy about young woman lost in a world that don't understand them and/or that they don't understand.

Seen at [livejournal.com profile] fannish5 : Name your five favorite spaceships.

1. TARDIS (Doctor Who)

2. Serenity (Firefly & Serenity)

3. Enterprise (Star Trek)

4. Heart of Gold (H2G2)

5. Millenium Falcon (Star Wars)

Very classical choices, as I don't know many spaceships apart from those... in fact, I don't think I know any other spaceship XD

For [livejournal.com profile] fannish5 : List five characters you'd want on your side in any kind of trouble. Bonus points for assembling an "Action Team" with complementary skills.

Some were hard to chose, because I could have seen other characters at the same place. But well...

1. The Doctor (Doctor Who) as my driver.
Because a Tardis is always useful.

2. Benjamin Linus (LOST) as my mastermind.
Because I'd rather have in on my side than on the others' side. Plus he's the man with the plan. (I could have chosen Mr. Bennet from Heroes, or even Alexander Mahone from Prison Break, especially since they know how to fight as well, but both of them are too entangled in their family issues... well, it could be an issue with Ben as well, but not as much)

3. Mystique (X-Men) as my Inside Woman.
Because she kicks ass and she can change shape. What else ?

4. Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as my Action Woman.
Because she can fight and she's intelligent at that. Ok, that could be said for lots and lots of characters. But she's funny as well. So let's just say I pick her.

5. Marvin (H2G2) as my... lethal weapon ?
Because getting the enemy very depressed can be a way out of a situation.
gribouille: (Hot Fuzz - WTF)
Name five series that should have had a musical episode (and how it could have been explained).

1. Doctor Who
Actually, I don't know, maybe it already had one in the old!Who series, but I would have loved to see it in the new one. Very easily explainable - a planet on which you have to sing...

2. Pushing Daisies
I've only seen one episode of this show, so here again maybe there was a musical episode. But I could just imagine everyone singing... without any logical explanation.

3. The Avengers
Just because I am in love with Diana Rigg's voice. Here again, no logical explanation...

4. CSI
With all the different styles of episodes they have tried, they could try a musical one ! I'd love to hear Hodges sing about how he is the best of the whole crew. Maybe in one of his dreams... or Greg/Nick/anyone else's nightmare ?

5. House, M.D.
Because it would be so FUNNY. As for the explanation.... here again, I don't have any to offer, unfortunately...

Since I'm at it... ([livejournal.com profile] fannish5)

Name 5 characters who you think are great parents, or who would be great parents.

1. Mr. Bennet (Heroes) : my favourite character in the show. At first I was so scared by him, and then I realized how much he loved his daughter. Sometimes his choices are really questionnable, but he remains a loving father. And his wife is a great mother too.

2. Nine (Doctor Who) : A father with a Tardis and that smile ? Yes, please !

3. Izumi (Full Metal Alchemist, anime) : I love her relationship with the Elrics, and later with the boy.

4. Hughes (Full Metal Alchemist) : He is so fond of his daughter. Extremely cute.

5. Alex Drake (Ashes to Ashes) : She may not be always there, but she's a loving mother.
gribouille: (Christian Bale)
Name 5 characters you didn't like at first, but eventually learned to love.

1) James Norrington (PotC)

2) Mr Bennet (Heroes)

3) Audrey Horne (Twin Peaks)
