Sep. 2nd, 2010 12:00 pmI'll be back in Ireland tomorrow night. Another month before I start working... but I've got stuff to do. I hope that the school will give me their programm soon, so that I can start working seriously on what I'm going to do with the girls. I've got a few ideas, but my biggest problem is their level, which apparently isn't very high : I have to find material that they will be able to understand... and at the same time I'd really like to show them more of French culture and of French literature. So if I want them to study, say, Jules Verne, I have to find a text that they will be able to understand without panicking. I guess I'll have to wait a few weeks before I really start doing that kind of stuff, so that I can really evaluate their level.

C'est quaaaand les vacances ? ;___;
Jun. 9th, 2010 02:21 pm=> Blue est en train de me faire une coup de folie, il prend son élan, saute par-dessus du canapé et atterrit à l'autre bout de l'appart', près de la litière, qu'il remue ensuite pendant quelques minutes avant de recommencer O.o je crois que ça veut dire qu'il va y avoir de l'orage dans quelques heures, parce que la dernière fois qu'il m'a fait ça c'était samedi soir. C'est bien drôle quand même ^^;;;
=> La civi britannique c'était nul, je suis pas très contente de ce que j'ai fait malgré un thème général (les colonies) qui me plaisait. Disons que 2 heures pour un commentaire de texte ça me paraît bien trop court, du coup j'ai speedé et j'aurais sans doute pu en dire plus.
=> En Littérature, on est tombés sur "Theatre in Richard III" ♥ je pense m'en être bien sortie. La bonne nouvelle c'est qu'à priori je n'aurai plus à me replonger dans Tess, maintenant...
=> Demain c'est TICE (informatique). Veux pas.
=> Demain c'est aussi (encore) deux heures de conduite. J'ai toujours pas tué qui que ce soitc'est pas faute d'essayer, mais hier on est allé dans un centre-ville, avec portières qui s'ouvrent, camionnettes au milieu de la route et piétons qui traversent à la clé. Ce fut épique.
=> Après m'être paumée dans Paris pour trouver Paris 3, j'ai appris que je ne peux rien faire tant que je n'ai pas ma Licence. Moi qui comptais tout régler maintenant pour être tranquille -__-

May. 11th, 2010 10:42 pm- In spite of a few frights because of that stupid volcano, Jon managed to land in France on Saturday morning, and we spent a lovely day in Disneyland with my family. My birthday was just as great - I got a new videogame (Anno 1404, very interesting) and flowers from my sisters, a book on Tim Burton from my Dad, a teddy bear, the first season of Damages and the Inglorious Basterds DVD from Jon... and loads of nice cards. Can't fully realize I'm 20, though. The whole family then watched Up - and, obviously, I cried. Seriously, Disney, why so... realistic ?
- On Sunday night Jon and me watched the two first episodes of Doctor Who, season 5, and I can't say much about it except that I loved both of them, and that Matt Smith is very promising.
- And that volcano was stupid enough to let Jon leave France yesterday morning.
- According to my driving instructor, I'm "not a disaster". I guess it could indeed be worse. At least I haven't killed anyone yet.

Mar. 6th, 2010 05:29 pm=> I'm rather proud of my last icon post (mostly about Pulp Fiction). So proud that I'm advertising it : you can see it here@a_song_of. It's not perfect, some icons are even bad (I was not very inspired by the "colour" part of the challenge), but well.
=> I'm also proud of my result at the "code" (basically : training for the driving theory test, you have to get less than 5 mistakes). Lately I've been doing 5 mistakes or less without cheating (long story), and today I even got 3. Hopefully I'll be ready for the real test in April (still don't know the date, won't till the end of March).
=> The A Song of Ice and Fire TV show has been approved by HBO ! It's going to be broadcast around spring 2011 though... that's a long time to wait... but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
=> One of the homeworks I have to do for May consists in reading a book around British Civilization and basically make a summary of it (which is not as interesting as the similar exercises we used to do last year, but I'll have to deal with it). I chose The British Isles. A History of Four Nations, by Hugh Kearney. At first I thought I'd pick a novel dealing with Irish History that seemed interesting (Angela's Ashes) but I found this one in the library and I might have more to say about it, on the point of view of historiography - which is a subject I'm very fond of. So far it's been rather interesting, though I've only read the Introduction and the first chapter. Basically the author tries to consider History on the "British" point of view, showing the links between the different parts of Great Britain (including Ireland) as well as the differences. And I like the fact that he uses archaeology to illustrate what he says.
=> I have to re-read Tess... though it can wait a few weeks. Seeing the movie (maybe tonight if I get the time to) might help me remember it.

The cat came back
Sep. 2nd, 2009 04:39 pmJon came back from Leeds yesterday with a good amount of stories to tell. And today he's back to work... never tell your employer that you'll be there anytime he needs you.
I finished The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn yesterday. I must say I didn't like it much... as Jon's mother says, it's probably because it's a boy's book. It's true that I can't relate to the main character, which did not help me much. Huck is a nice boy, but it seems that he does not take things seriously, especially when, to me, he should. Now I'm planning on re-reading A Game of Thrones (the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire), as I'm getting really excited about the HBO adaptation.

Aug. 28th, 2009 01:47 pmNot much news from Leeds, except that Jon arrived there yesterday. The festival must have begun now, I hope he's having fun.
As for me, I'm actually not that bored. I watched the two first episodes of Being Human (couldn't find the pilote), a very enjoyable TV show in which a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost are roommates. Since I love stories where the "abnormal" is normal (or tries to be), I really like it. And the characters are cool. But I think I'll stop watching it now and wait till Jon comes back because I want to show it to him.
So instead I watch True Blood, another show about supernatural being normal, or at least commonplace : basically, it is set in a world where vampires exist and are now part of everyday life, or try to be. Here again I really like the characters... especially since Anna Paquin (The Piano, Finding Forrester or, more recently, Rogue in the X-Men movies) plays one of them (the main character, that is). Oh, and it's an HBO show, so definitely not for kids.
And, last but not least, I created this :a_song_of, a community to post my icons. Right now I am still re-posting old bunches of icons, so I wouldn't advise you to watch it unless you want your f-list to be filled with new old posts.
While I went through old icon posts I realized how bad most of my first icons were. It's funny to see how I progressively managed to get to know Photoshop. I'm not saying that all my recent icons are perfect - none of them is, and there are still some crappy ones. But I'm glad I improved...

Jul. 17th, 2008 11:28 pm- l'icône "WTF" n'a aucun but précis. J'avais juste envie de l'exhiber, vu que je viens de la trouver. ♥
- ça y est, je suis officiellement fan de Simon Pegg. Et aussi de Nick Frost, Edgard Wright, Bill Nighy et Martin Freeman, bref, de cette bande de dingues derrière Hot Fuzz et Shaun of the Dead. Mais surtout Simon Pegg (d'où l'icône, d'ailleurs). J'ai toujours dit qu'il avait une bonne tête. ♥
- j'ai reçu aujourd'hui L'Art du Disque-Monde, par Terry Pratchett et Paul Kirby. Un grand bouquin avec plein de dessins (sans blague) et de commentaires du Maître et de son Dessinateur. Que du bonheur. En revanche, il a été abîmé durant la livraison, ce qui me fait gasper. Mais genre, beaucoup. Enfin, je m'y ferai. En tout cas, j'aime ma maman ♥
- le Daily Show a repris cette semaine, ô joie ! Moi qui pensais que le break durerait toute les vacances, non ! Juste une pause de deux semaines ! Et c'est toujours aussi drôle ! ♥
- je suis tombée par hasard sur un documentaire commenté par Michael J. Fox (ça date un petit peu) sur l'acteur James Cagney, qui a fait de nombreux films (apparemment connus) entre les années 40 et 60. Je veux en voir. Parce que mine de rien, ilétait beau gosse a l'air de jouer très, très bien. Maintenant, reste plus qu'à me trouver Yankee Doodle Dandy ou un autre... aha.
- en parlant de Michael J. Fox : je ne sais pas si vous savez, mais il va revenir sur nos (petits) écrans ! Dans un épisode de la série Rescue Me, que je... ne connais absolument pas, mais il n'empêche que je suis très, très contente pour lui ! J'adore cet acteur depuis Retour vers le futur, et je suis vraiment très heureuse qu'il arrive à s'en sortir malgré Parkinson. Et si tout ça se profile bien, il pourrait apparaître dans Scrubs aussi ! J'aime Scrubs, même si je n'en ai vu que des petits bouts ! Une de grandes nouvelles de la semaine, donc ♥

Je cherchais une icône pour le NaNoWriMo qui illustrerait plus ou moins mon "roman", Le Poids du Masque... et à force de chercher j'ai trouvé celle-ci, qui a l'avantage 1) d'être très jolie, 2) de correspondre à ce que je voulais, 3) de représenter un film et une actrice que j'adore ^w^ Bien que le NaNo soit fini depuis longtemps, je continue de l'utiliser de temps en temps...
Christian Bale is love. Y a pas, j'aime cet acteur. Il fallait bien que j'en fasse une icône. J'en ai fait tout plein, et puis comme celle-là me plaisait, je l'ai gardée pour moi... bon, sachant que depuis, je l'ai un peu retouchée (il faisait un peu pâle, le Christian... bleuté même). Mais... ça va, j'en suis plutôt contente ^w^
Je venais tout juste de commencer House, M.D. quand je suis tombée sur cette icône, et j'ai vraiment craqué dessus ^^ le texte dit tout XDDDD toujours utile quand j'ai fait une boulette......

The Goodfellas + icons
Mar. 9th, 2008 08:58 pmVoilà, j'ai enfin vu The Goodfellas (les Affranchis), de Martin Scorcese, avec Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta et Robert de Niro... j'ai beaucoup aimé. La réalisation me fait beaucoup penser à Mean Streets, du grand Scorcese, quoi, qui en un plan traverse tout un restaurant, de l'entrée du personnel à la table de luxe à laquelle s'installe le personnage personnel, en passant par des petits couloirs et la cuisine et en s'attardant sur chaque personnage ou presque. Superbe.
Bon, et parce que c'est finalement plus pratique que de faire des gros posts une fois tous les dix mille ans, voici les icônes de cette semaine...

Mar. 8th, 2008 10:03 pmLes vacances sont bientôt finies, c'est pô zuste... j'aurais bien pris une semaine de plus. Mais bon !
Encore une bonne semaine de passée, avec au programme films (je ferai une compile de critiques demain, tiens... c'est fun ^^), écriture (...), sortie à Paris avec mes soeurs (un grand moment... *mode grande soeur angsty ON*), films, films (j'ai revu Jumper... pas ma faute, Viall voulait que je l'emmène... c'est toujours aussi moyen mais Griffiiiiiiiiin *o*), et aujourd'hui convention.
Eh oui, j'ai passé la journée sur le stand de SUKI (sympathique fanzine yaoï et yuri), ou plutôt derrière le stand, à vendre des cartes et à faire les comptes (parce que je suis bien incapable de dessiner donc de faire la moindre de dédicace... sauf si on demande des fics ou des bonhommes-bâtons, mais c'est rare). C'était bien fun, mais aussi bien crevant. J'ai aussi complètement craqué sur une peluche d'Axel (Kingdom Hearts II), qui a maintenant sa place parmi mes autres peluches (et c'est officiellement la première que je m'achète pour moi). Et et et.... j'ai vu Catwoman, Batman et le Joker *o* oui oui, ils étaient cosplayés ! Et très bien en plus ! Scéance photos dès que je les récupère...
Oh, et j'ai écrit, aussi. Me suis fait exploiter par Machan pour avoir répondu de travers : deux fics, une AU Resident Evil IV, et une originale vu que je savais pas faire de l'Assassin's Creed, ce qui m'a permis de créer de nouveaux persos et un univers en prime @_@ Oh, et une fic Jumper, aussi. Hum.
Bon et puis en rentrant j'ai regardé Twin Peaks (Harold is love), puis je me suis branchée sur mon ordinateur et ooooh ! Bonne surprise et couinage de fangirl ! Le prochainfilm_challenge est sur Jumper ! J'ai enfin des screencaps *o* dont Griffin *o* et même une David/Griffin *o*
.... bref, je vais faire des icônes ^^;;;;;
(.... je fais peur, n'empêche, quand je suis addicted à quelque chose, moi.)
(et en plus j'ai honte parce que le film a des trous dans le scénar absolument énormes.)
(... mais Griffin !!!)

Mar. 2nd, 2008 10:02 pmLes vacances se poursuivent... mes soeurs viennent de rentrer, on a déjà eu quelques cris ("POURQUOI EST-CE QU'IL Y A UN CARTON DANS MA CHAMBRE !!!"), mais c'est vite passé. Ma chambre est en bordel comme d'hab encore pire que d'habitude depuis une semaine : fallait bien que je récupère tout ce que j'avais laissé chez mes grands-parents (et vu que j'y ai vécu un an et demi, j'en ai laissé, des choses !). Bah, je rangerai tranquillement... non, en vérité, je rangerai tout ça en grande hâte vendredi si des amis viennent ce week-end. Ce qui risque très certainement d'arriver, et même qu'on va commencer à bosser la pièce de théâtre pour notre colle de Lettres !
Eh oui, nous allons jouer La Leçon de Ionesco. Sachant que nous sommes quatre et qu'il y a trois personnages, nous allons donc dédoubler le professeur (qui a de toute façon une sorte de double personnalité). Moi, je joue l'élève ^w^
Sinon sinon... je change peu à peu mes icônes ^^ mine de rien, ça faisait un petit bout de temps que j'en avais envie... ça change, quoi :-) je changerai également de header dans les jours prochains, je pense...
Et sinon encore, j'ai vu Jumper, et grâce à un drabble debenebu posté dans l'arbre à drabbles de frenchdrabble, je suis devenue addict au David/Griffin. Et me suis inscrite à une_phrase. C'est marrant, je passe un certain temps sans couple addictif précis, et puis tout à coup je tombe sur un et... voilà. C'est un peu la même chose pour les fandoms, en fait. C'est vraiment marrant.
Et sinon enfin, j'ai fait quelques icônes ce soir, et tant que j'y suis... (en fait, là, j'attends mes soeurs pour regarder Jumanji, un grand classique de mon enfance que j'ai retrouvé en DVD).
